Not every day or month, or even years, that you get to see a
Short-eared Owl. When my pair turned up quite unexpectedly I could not resist firing off the camera in the hope that I might do justice to this lovely winter visitor. More photos below, mainly of the same bird so I did wonder whether one was a female as it always seemed to be the first to take cover the the more exposed individual always returning to be near the other.
