The active life of a Short-eared Owl

The visit to the Guadalhorce, Malaga on Thursday 10 January produced four individual Short-eared Owls and it was a pleasure and a privilege to see the birds both resting and flying as they sought out their evening meal.  What a special treat for all who witnessed the show.

Which way to go?

I think we'll start off to the left. (Your right!)

"This is busy, busy.  I need a rest!"

Here we go again.

"Well that was fun and kept all those birders happy.  Shame they've got nothing better to do!"

I trust that you enjoyed looking at the photographs as much as I did enjoying the real thing and more.

Check out the accompanying website at http://www.birdingaxarquia.weebly.com for the latest sightings, photographs and additional information.

  1. Really nice observation!

In Fuseta (8km from Olhão), in the last months we had several observations of Asio flammeus on salt-pans!

My first observation of this specie was on 2011.
