Montpellier Snake at the Guadalhorce

Thursday 16 May

Do you remember the very large Montpellier Snake Malpolon monspessulanus we saw sunbathing last week  very close to the Laguna Casillas hide at the side of the track?  Well, judging by today's sighting we now seem tp know the reason why.  Picking up the recently shed skin we measured it at a full two metres in length.  And I also took a close-up of the head; amazing the detail.
